New Screenshots/Details For Aion's Warrior & Scout Classes

NCsoft has released some new screenshots featuring the Warrior and Scout classes for Aion, as well as class details!

NCsoft has released some new screenshots for both the Warrior and Scout classes that will be available in Aion, their upcoming MMORPG. We've got them below, as well as links to the rest of the screenshots!

Aion is a visually stunning massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), where players ascend to divinity and fight in a celestial war. Here they will wield divine powers and the capability of true flight, to bring deliverance to your people and restore balance to a world shattered by cataclysm. Choose your side, spread your wings, and claim your rightful place among the immortal legions of Atreia. This is the glory that is Aion.

The Warrior
Fearsome and hulking, a Warrior’s way is found more through brute force and great resilience than guile and trickery. However, do not be fooled into thinking Warriors are brainless, or simple: though your first steps may be relatively easy to master, Warriors must fully dedicate both body and mind to fully understand the powerful skills they’ll later be taught. I have seen a great many Warriors in my time, and it is only the strongest and most dedicated that can truly survive in this world.

Once a Warrior reaches a certain level of proficiency, they will see their path end, and split into two distinct and new routes: those of the Gladiator, and of the Templar. Only one of these can be followed, so read on, and choose wisely.

Aion Warrior Screenshot

Gladiators are the true melee masters of Atreia; vicious and beastly - constantly training to perfect the various fighting styles their class excels in. Much like the Warrior class that they emerged from, a Gladiator’s power comes from sheer, brutal strength - to see one of these behemoths in combat is a truly awe-inspiring sight.

Gladiators are a vital cog in any group of Daeva, and give enemies a large and powerful target to focus their attacks on. Their presence is always felt, from my understanding most often at the end of a sharpened sword.

Aion Warrior Screenshot

The Templar is a brave soul who must hold the frontline, using their shield to block and parry attacks while waiting for a weakness to show itself before retaliating. A Templar becomes more powerful when struck; indeed they can only reveal their full potential when they are in the midst of combat.

The Templar isn’t just a heavy shield and pointed sword however. Unlike their Gladiator cousins, I have seen Templars using incantations and chants to protect and heal their allies, making them a versatile yet sturdy class.

The Scout
If the Warrior is about grit, power and sheer strength, then Scouts concern themselves more with speed, camouflage, agility and awareness. They dress in light armour, making them vulnerable… when they can be hit. Scouts are complex creatures requiring a delicate touch and measured approach, and once their inherent strengths and weaknesses are understood, they are formidable opponents indeed!

Once the scout has reached the required level of ability, they will be able to choose one of two classes to specialise in: the Ranger, or Assassin.

Aion Scout Screenshot

Rangers are experienced Scouts who have shunned the idea of working within a regular military unit, choosing instead to work alone or in specialist teams. They are solitary figures with finely honed survival instincts and the ability to endure even in the harshest of environments. In fact, I have only met two Rangers in my lifetime, both of whom were strikingly shy figures, and never seemed at peace in the populated areas of our world.

Regarding their weaponry, Rangers are expert archers, and can set traps in anticipation of an oncoming enemy. They are also well trained in the use of daggers, so are able to engage in combat regardless of the enemy’s proximity.

A Ranger must always be aware of their surroundings, and has to plan ahead in order to ensure a good victory or a clean kill is attained.

Aion Scout Screenshot

Assassins are a mysterious class, and though I studied them for many years I’m afraid I found out little regarding their methods. However, it is clear that these men and women are valuable characters indeed, able to strike silently and with devastating consequences at vulnerable targets, effectively bringing down whole groups with a single action. I have heard whisperings that they follow no god, and instead follow the star of death for instruction.

Assassins themselves are fairly weak, and when prematurely discovered, rarely survive the inevitable consequences.
