Diablo III Pushed To 2012 - Beta Extended
Diablo III release date pushed to early 2012 and Blizzard Entertainment extends beta test, plus details on how to get into the now extended Diablo III beta
Blizzard Entertainment announced last Friday that the expected launch window for Diablo III, the next title in the company's critically acclaimed series of action role-playing games, will be moving into early 2012.
Blizzard will use the additional time to extend the Diablo III closed beta test, which began September 20, potentially adding more testers than initially projected. Players who have an active Battle.net account with any Blizzard game attached to it should visit Battle.net account management to opt in for a chance to participate in the beta test.
Interested in signing up for an advance look at Diablo's coming invasion of Sanctuary? To be eligible to participate in the Diablo III beta test, you need an active Battle.net account with any Blizzard game title attached to it. If you don't already have an account, it's easy to create one. Once you've set up a Battle.net account, or if you've already got one, you can access it by visiting us.battle.net/en/ and clicking the Account button on the upper right. To opt into the beta, click the Games & Codes section of your Account Management page, and then select the Beta Profile Settings option from the drop-down menu. You'll be prompted to download the System Check beta opt-in application; running it will opt you in to the Diablo III beta. If your system specifications change, you can run the System Check application again to update your information.
Unfortunately, running the System Check application doesn't guarantee a spot in the Diablo III beta...
About Diablo III
Two decades have passed since the demonic denizens, Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal, wandered the world of Sanctuary in a vicious rampage to shackle humanity into unholy slavery. Yet for those who battled the Prime Evils directly, the memory fades slowly and the wounds of the soul still burn.
When Deckard Cain returns to the ruins of Tristram's Cathedral seeking clues to new stirrings of evil, a comet from the heavens strikes the very ground where Diablo once entered the world. The comet carries a dark omen in its fiery being and it calls the heroes of Sanctuary to defend the mortal world against the rising powers of the Burning Hells – and even the failing luminaries of the High Heavens itself.
Blizzard Entertainment announced last Friday that the expected launch window for Diablo III, the next title in the company's critically acclaimed series of action role-playing games, will be moving into early 2012.
"While this news might not be a complete surprise, I know that many of you were hopeful that Diablo III would ship this year. We were too." said said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "However, this week we pulled together people from all of the teams involved with the game to decide whether we felt it would be ready before the end of December, and we grudgingly came to the conclusion that it would not. Ultimately, we feel that to deliver an awesome Diablo sequel that lives up to our expectations and yours as well, we should take a little more time and add further polish to a few different elements of the game."
"With every game we make, the temptation is always very strong to launch as soon as possible. However, we didn't put so many years of work into Diablo III to release a game that was almost ready," said Morhaime. "The beta test is going very well, and we look forward to making the most of the extra time we're taking to deliver an experience that lives up to our vision for the game and the expectations of our players. Next year is going to be an incredibly busy one for Blizzard, and we hope an incredibly fun one for Blizzard gamers."

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Review
Review of Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, see what we thought of one of the most anticipated fighting games of 2011
Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is an incredibly colorful, fun and aggressive fighting game, that contains a great amount of admired characters from the previous installments of Marvel vs. Capcom, but also adds a few new faces to the roster. This time around some very abstruse heroes and villains were introduced, witch will for sure please the longtime fans for the comic book world. But what is less pleasing is the shortage of game modes, if you are looking for a game with a variety of fighting experiences, this is not the game your looking for.
Gameplay:
The game play is absolutely amazing, if you have ever played MvC 2 you would know that it wasn’t the easiest game to play, in fact it was pretty complicated. Well not anymore MvC complex controls have been reduced so that it will appeal to a more broad audience, now just because the controls have been toned down doesn’t mean that you don’t need skill to play this game. Trust me this game is not button mash friendly, you will have to practice but it wont take long for even the most casual gamer to pick it up.
The online Gameplay on the other hand is not up to par, from what I have experienced most games lag or disconnect all together unless it is a private match between two friends. Im sure the People at capcom will be pushing out an update soon so don’t let this be a reason to not purchase this game.

Lurking behind every corner is another bloodthirsty monster but the big surprise for Weller (and fans) is the return of the Twitcher, a grotesque enemy who first appeared in the original Dead Space game.

Surrounded by the screeching cries of undead monsters and the haunting drum of echoing noises, Isaac plots a course through The Sprawl. Dead Space 2 is noted by critics worldwide for delivering an epic terror experience that takes players on an explosive thrill ride filled with intense action and spine-tingling scares through deep space.

Mortal Kombat Banned By Aussie Ratings Board
Mortal Kombat returning to it's brutal roots and fatalities doesn't sit well with Australian censors
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's (WBIE) has released a statement confirming that Mortal Kombat has been banned by the Australian Ratings Board and calling for the introduction of a mature rating for games in Australia.
According to the Classification Board's official report, Mortal Kombat is unable to accomodate the maximum MA15+ rating guidelines due to its explicit violence and limb dismemberment during fatalities.
Mortal Kombat is due to hit retailers April 19, 2011 for the Xbox 360 and PS3. It has been rated "Mature" by the ESRB and "18+" by PEGI.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's (WBIE) has released a statement confirming that Mortal Kombat has been banned by the Australian Ratings Board and calling for the introduction of a mature rating for games in Australia.
"The highly anticipated video game Mortal Kombat, published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) in Australia, has been refused classification by the Australian Classification Board and will not release in Australia. We are extremely disappointed that Mortal Kombat, one of the world's oldest and most successful video games franchises, will not be available to mature Australian gamers. WBIE would not market mature content where it is not appropriate for the audience. We understand that not all content is for every audience, but there is an audience for mature gaming content and it would make more sense to have the R18+ classification in Australia. As a member of the iGEA [Interactive Games & Entertainment Association], WBIE is reviewing all options available at this time."
According to the Classification Board's official report, Mortal Kombat is unable to accomodate the maximum MA15+ rating guidelines due to its explicit violence and limb dismemberment during fatalities.
"Kung Lao throws his metal hat into the ground and it spins like a buzz saw. He grabs his prone opponent by the ankles and drags their body through the saw, explicitly slicing them vertically in half. Copious bloodspray is noted. Kung Lao then holds up both halves of the corpse as blood pours out," reads the report.
"The game includes over 60 fatalities (some of which are noted above), which contain explicit depictions of dismemberment, decapitation, disembowelment, and other brutal forms of slaughter. Despite the exaggerated conceptual nature of the fatalities and their context within a fighting game set in a fantasy realm, impact is heightened by the use of graphics which are realistically rendered and very detailed. In the opinion of the board, the game contains violence that exceeds strong in impact and is unsuitable for a minor to see or play. The game should therefore be Refused Classification pursuant to item 1(d) of the computer games table of the National Classification Board."

This highly-anticipated sequel has been heralded as one of the top games of 2011 by New York Times’ Seth Schiesel and has received 25 scores of 90+ from top gaming outlets such as Official Xbox Magazine, Playstation: The Official Magazine and Game Informer. PlayStation: The Official Magazine said that “’Dead Space 2’ surpasses the original in every capacity,” while IGN calls it “a new gold standard” and Game Informer declares the game “a monster of a sequel, offering bigger scares and more excitement.”
Visceral Games also announced today Dead Space 2: Severed, an all-new digital download pack that extends the Dead Space 2 story with the addition of two standalone chapters in the single-player game. Dead Space 2: Severed will see the return of Gabe Weller and Lexine Murdock, the two main characters from the award-winning 2009 game, Dead Space Extraction. In Dead Space 2: Severed, the story of Weller and Lexine runs parallel to Isaac’s blood-curdling adventure in Dead Space 2, but this time players will take on the role of Gabe Weller. Working as a Sprawl Security Guard, Weller has to fight against his own onslaught of Necromorphs, as he attempts to get both him and Lexine to safety. Dead Space 2: Severed will be coming soon for purchase on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and the PlayStation Network.
“After years of anticipation we’re thrilled to unveil the next series of events in the Dead Space universe,” said Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer at Visceral Games. “In creating Dead Space 2, we listened very closely to the community’s feedback and created a deeper, more intriguing, more terrifying sequel. With excitement guaranteed to keep people on the edge of their seats, players will not only experience all-new environments, weapons and Zero-G controls but they’ll also experience the other side of the battle when they play as Necromorphs for the first time in multiplayer. We cannot wait to hear what fans think about this next chapter in the ever-evolving Dead Space saga!”

New Gears of War Title In The Works?
It looks like there is another Gears of War game in the works as Epic Games has trademarked for "Gears of War: Exile"
The trademark applications include "Gears of War: Exile" and a proposed logo. The trademark was filed for use with t-shirts, a "series of computer game hint books and instruction manuals," and "video game software," which means we're most likely looking at a game and not simply another novel or comic book.
In late November, Cliff Bleszinski, Epic Games' design director, promised a Gears of War-related announcement for the 2010 Video Game Awards. The announcement was pushed to 2011 on the day of the show. The project was rumored to be a Kinect-enabled Gears of War title, but there has been no confirmation from Epic Games or Microsoft.
Epic is currently developing Gears of War 3 for the Xbox 360 and will release it this fall.

Their goal is to reach a PCU (Peak Concurrent Users) of 10,000.
Within a certain timeframe they need to have ten thousand people in-game, all at the same time.
The first attempt will occur this weekend, Saturday January 15th.
If they don't manage to reach their goal this Saturday they're going to resort to more drastic measures next week, which would involve disabling game access during the week and enabling it again during the weekend.
